Notes of color… My good friend and teacher … the painter Francis Cunningham explained the landscape to me in notes of color, how the foreground and background are created by putting notes of color next to each other not necessarily mixing them together. In this painting, Wildflowers at Huber Woods I used this method to create an abstract painting based on the realism of the natural landscape.
